Two-thirds of Britons 'to work after retirement'
Over two-thirds of people at retirement age are thinking about staying at work for several more years, according to new research.
The study by life insurance provider Zurich found that 64 per cent of those close to 65 were planning to carry on working after retirement, while a third were putting off plans to leave work due to financial reasons.
Around one in ten people believe they will miss working life, while a quarter felt they would stay at jobs to avoid being bored.
Zurich UK Life's business development director, Tony Solomon, said: "Many people are re-evaluating how they will spend their retirement.
"This emerging trend of returnment reflects the changing nature of retirement as people continue to be active."
Previous research by Zurich found that around one in six people who have undertaken DIY have had to call in expert help after causing damage to their properties.
It was also found that half of people do not inform an insurer when making changes to their homes.
